Before Sunset

Before Sunset
Set nine years after the events in Vienna, Jesse (Ethan Hawke) and Celine (Julie Delpy) meet again in Paris, where Jesse is giving a reading from his new novel – based in large part on their encounter from the first film. While this is the first time they have met or spoken since, they quickly reconnect and apend the rest of the day together, catching up and putting the world to rights once more. As the characters (and I) have matured since we last saw them, their conversations here are more eloquent, perhaps more jaded, but also more realistic and relatable. As a result I enjoyed revisiting this second installment more than the first film and that their feelings, ideals and opinions were closer to my own.
