Revenge

Revenge
Kevin Costner was on the cusp of becoming a huge A-list star when he took the lead in this rather grim but intriguing thriller from Tony Scott. On leaving the navy, Jay Cochran (Costner) heads south to visit his old Mexican gangster buddy (Anthony Quinn), only to fall for his stunning young wife, Miryea (Madeline Stowe). Needless to say, the lovers are discovered and Quinn rains all hell on his former friend. Scott’s director’s cut is shorter, leaner and meaner than the original theatrical version, but it remains an underrated entry in the canons of both its director and leading man.
